In a statement, Monaco confirmed the departure of Niko Kovac from the technical command of the team. The 50-year-old Croatian coach, who took over at the start of last season, leaves the Principality club sixth in Ligue 1 with 29 points, 17 behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
Monaco also announced that it hopes to announce Kovac’s successor “soon”. Until then, Stéphane Nado, from team B, will lead the squad that includes the Portuguese Gelson Martins.
