Miguel Oliveira (KTM) assumed, this Thursday, the objective of finishing “in great” the World of Moto GP riders in 2021, recognizing the enthusiasm with the possibility of celebrating with the public, in Portimão, on Sunday.

“I’m feeling very good, this will be the first time I can feel the Portuguese public in a MotoGP race. I hope you like it, have fun and, on Sunday, we can celebrate something», said the driver from Almada, at the press conference previewing the Algarve Grand Prix, the 17th and penultimate race of the World Cup.

Miguel Oliveira makes his second run in the premier-class by Portugal in 2021 in 10th place, with 92 points, after having suffered a fall in the previous race, in Misano, Italy.

The winner of the MotoGP debut at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in November 2020 with a ‘Grand Chelem’, by joining the lead throughout the race from pole position and setting the fastest lap in what was his second victory in the competition, the Portuguese suffered a fall in the first race of 2021, in Portimão, on April 18, not getting better than 16th place.

Previewing the 2022 season, Miguel Oliveira pointed out as his objective “to improve a little of each point of the bike, especially the frame”.

Now with the world title, Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) admitted to feeling “prepared for the race” in Portimão, where he won the third stage of the World Championship.
