Tottenham hosted and beat Southampton 2-1 in the first game after José Mourinho left. Gareth Bale scored the goal that kicked off the Spurs.
At the end of the match, the Welsh winger praised the team’s reaction in the second half, merit of the speech by Ryan Mason, the interim coach, at the break.
«We had a good conversation about some aspects that we could improve. We controlled the game in the second half and deserved the victory ”, he stressed, in statements to the Sky Sports.
In between, Gareth Bale seems to have left Mourinho a ‘message’.
“We are a great team, with great players, we have to attack more, stay ahead on the pitch and that is what we did in this game”, he stressed.
