After the rumors, confirmation arrived. Milan director Paolo Maldini confirmed in the draw for the new season’s calendar that Olivier Giroud will head to San Siro. A deal that will cost the Italian emblem around one million euros.
The deal was to be done at no cost, but Chelsea triggered the clause allowing the unilateral renewal of Giroud’s contract and forced Milan to open the purse strings for the 34-year-old striker.
Trained at Grenoble, Giroud signed for Chelsea in January 2918, after stints at Tours, Montpellier and Arsenal. For the Londoners he scored 39 goals in 119 games.
