The president of Covilhã, José Mendes, was re-elected this evening, with 43 votes from the 46 members present at the General Assembly (AG). The former councilor of the City Council, Jorge Gomes, is the new head of the AG table, while the Supervisory Board continues to be chaired by Carlos Costa.
Luís Veiga, president of the outgoing AG, but who still coordinated the electoral session, was not part of the only list put to suffrage and voted against José Mendes, who has always followed in the club’s governing bodies since the 2010/2011 season.
For 17 years in the presidency of the Serranos, José Mendes pointed out as priorities for the new term of three years the completion of the last phase of the stadium, the construction of the Academy and the desire that in the centenary year, in 2023, Covihã reach the First League
“This is a renewed team, a team of serious people, a team willing to work, to modify, to modernize the club and, therefore, we are going to dedicate ourselves heart and soul”, said the Serrano manager
