The Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport predicts this Friday what could be a real bomb in the summer market in Portugal. Benfica will be ahead by hiring midfielder João Mário, who last season was a key figure in Sporting winning the title of national champion.
Alvalade’s club, as A BOLA reported in due course, did not fulfill Inter Milan’s intentions for the permanent transfer of the player, who now enters the last year of his contract with the Italian club.
«Now Benfica really seems to have surpassed the competition, approaching what is requested by Inter, in a value between 7 and 8 million euros», can be read in Corriere dello Sport.
Already associated with other clubs since Sporting did not follow Inter’s intentions, namely Villarreal, Nice and Besiktas, João Mário may thus be on his way to a reunion with Jorge Jesus with whom he worked in Alvalade in the 2015/2016 season, earning him at the time, precisely, the transfer to Inter Milan for 40 million euros.
