Jocellyn Gourvennec, 49, is the replacement for Christophe Galtier (left for Nice) in charge of Lille, who last season was crowned league 1 champion. The team, negotiations with the coach began last Saturday and Lille confirmed, on Monday night, the arrival of the French coach.
Former player, Gourvennec, started his career as head coach at Guingamp, where he spent between 2010 and 2016. He then coached Bordeaux for two seasons, before returning to Guingamp. In 2018/19 he ended up not being able to avoid the club’s descent to Ligue 2 and has been unemployed for the last two seasons.
