Lieke Martens announced his departure from Barcelona this Thursday. The 29-year-old Dutch forward ended her contract with the Blaugrana and turned down their offer of renewal.
“After five very good years at this fantastic club and in this beautiful city I decided to start a new adventure. It was great to be part of the history of this club, but it’s time for a change”, wrote on social media the player who is appointed to PSG.
Formed at Heerenveen, Lieke Martens arrived at Barcelona in 2017, after spells at VVV-Venlo, Standard Liège, Duisburg, Gothenburg and Rosengard. With the Catalans, she scored 70 goals in 150 games and won three championships, three Queen’s Cups, two Super Cups and a Champions League, having been named best in the world in 2017.
