Ricardo Esgaio returns to the lion’s table this week, less than a month before the start of Sporting’s pre-season, scheduled for the 28th.
Rúben Amorim wants to see the squad closed, or very close to it, on the 1st of the 2021/2022 season, and the 28-year-old Portuguese right-back has long been the coach’s priority to discuss the title with Pedro Porro. On the other hand, SC Braga also intends to resolve this dossier by the end of this week, without wanting to create a new soap opera, as happened in the case of Paulinho, another of Rúben Amorim’s targets in the Minho squad and which ended up being achieved.
As with the striker, António Salvador has also been intransigent at right-back. With a contract valid until 2024 and a termination clause of 20 million euros, Ricardo Esgaio will only be negotiated, for the president of SC Braga, upon an offer equal to or greater than half the value inscribed in the clause.
