Manuel Ugarte played yesterday the first minutes of the new season for… Famalicão, having been released in the 73rd minute of the game against Estoril. The 20-year-old Uruguayan midfielder, remember, had tested positive for Covid-19 on July 19 and, since then, has been in isolation, delaying the preparation for the pre-season. Last Thursday, facing the negative result, Ugarte was reinstated, trained twice and yesterday served the first few minutes, in what will have been a farewell to the club that opened the doors to Portuguese and European football, at home and with the public.
Used yesterday by Famalicão, the future of Manuel Ugarte, however, even goes through Sporting and, according to data collected by A BOLA, the long negotiation may be concluded today, in time for Ugarte to travel, it is hoped, in the next few hours to Lisbon, comply with the usual medical exams and, everything running smoothly, join Sporting’s work tomorrow, after the day off that Rúben Amorim granted today to the entire squad.
