The Russian Football Federation’s Appeals Committee on Monday rejected Zenit’s request for a reduction of the six-game suspension penalty for players sent off amid the confusion that marred the Zenit-Spartak match (see attached news).
The match, valid for the Russian Cup, on November 27, ended with aggression between Nicholson, Selikhov, Sobolev (Spartak) and Barrios, Rodrigão and Malcom (Zenit), followed by clashes between technical elements who were on the bench .
The decision then remains in the six-game suspension. The disciplinary commission had already announced this sanction on 1 December.
