Coates and Sporting will extend their contract. The renewal of the lions team captain is underway and may include more than the option year, from 2023 to 2024, which is already provided for in the contract that was renewed in January 2020.
At 31, the central defender and the main reference of the Leo squad will further strengthen the ties to the club he has represented for almost six years and for which he plans to end his career, with prospects of continuity beyond the role of player, integrated in the green and white structure. But until then, Coates is there for the corners, to help defend and… score goals.
