The Spanish League revealed this Monday data on the accounts of clubs in the two main leagues, namely salary limits, with Barcelona worsening their accounts and having a negative record.
At the moment, Barcelona have a negative salary cap of 144 million after the winter market, that is, they continue to lose more money than the income can compensate; these are alarming numbers compared to the 97 million authorized at the beginning of the season, and even so, Leo Messi couldn’t be held back.
Real Madrid, for example, which did not increase in winter, maintains the 739 million salary cap, thus retaining the power of being able to invest much more than the rival, far ahead of Seville (199 million) and Atlético Madrid (161 million ).
This change worsens Barcelona’s scenario regarding being able to strengthen itself in the next market and makes it increasingly urgent to remodel the club’s financial situation, regardless of sales to save on salaries.
It is recalled that in this winter market Barça signed Ferran Torres, Aubameyang, Adama Traoré and Dani Alves.
La Liga sets salary caps to control financial fair play, non-compliance with which could result in financial penalties: they are calculated according to the difference between revenue and structural costs.
