Through its weekly newsletter, SC Braga again spoke out against the implementation of the fan card “in the manner presented”, considering that this “instrument completely fails its primary objective”.

«In view of all the expressions of repudiation registered during the first two days, SC Braga underlines something that has already been mentioned several times by its president, António Salvador, over the past few months: SC Braga is against the implementation of the Card. Adept in the molds presented. This concept has been used in other countries in the past and the results have been largely negative. Therefore, it is an outdated measure, with no practical effects in valuing the sport and that goes against the values defended by football, in which inclusion will always deserve special relevance.
This is a restrictive and castrating law and, although its genesis is valid (to fight racism and violence in sport), it puts even more obstacles to the valorization of football as a mass sport, driving people away from stadiums in a way discriminatory and segregating. It is a fact that, from a legal point of view, there is no illegality in the creation of the Adept’s Card as an identification document, but even so, SC Braga understands that this instrument completely fails its primary objective, even following the logic of failure of the what happened with the GOA: as it was not possible to identify and legalize the group in its collective sense, we try to identify the individual.”
