Franco Cervi has everything set up to be a reinforcement of Celta de Vigo, but there is still no green light to make the deal. In Spain, the online edition of the As newspaper even talks about the longest contract ever.
The 27-year-old Argentinian winger came very close in January to leaving Benfica to head to the Galician side, but an outbreak of Covid-19 in the red squad ended up blocking the deal, given the few options that Jorge Jesus had at his disposal at the high.
At the time, the clubs had reached an understanding on values (€4 million plus €2 million per goals). Celta’s president, Carlos Mouriño, revealed, however, that Benfica has changed conditions, now asking for €6 million plus €2 million for goals, but without posing any problem on the completion of the deal for this summer.
Certainly, time passes and Cervi is still waiting to receive authorization to travel to Vigo, in order to complete the usual medical examinations.
