A BOLA – Bayern shareholders want to end sponsorship of Qatar (Germany)

Bayern shareholders are preparing to put an end to one of the biggest sponsorship deals for the Bavarian emblem. According to the Kicker, a motion is being prepared for the November 25 General Assembly in order to force the management to end the relationship with the airline Qatar Airways, whose placards are scattered throughout the stadium and training center

“By working with a state-owned company in Qatar, Bayern is actively helping to divert attention from all the atrocities committed and to spread a modern and cosmopolitan image of the country, rather than the real one,” explained Michael Ott, shareholder of the club since 2007, and one of the proponents of the motion.

Under Bayern’s statutes, such a change requires a three-quarters majority of shareholders. A situation that is unlikely according to the German publication.
