Srdjan Djokovic, father of world number 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic, said his son is unlikely to attend the Australian Open in January.
“He wants to be there, with all his heart, because he is a sportsman, and we want him too, but because of these blackmails and the imposed conditions, he probably won’t do it,” he said, speaking to Serbian television Prva TV.
Remember that to participate in the Australian Open, tennis players are required to be vaccinated, something Novak Djokovic never revealed.
“It’s his right. Whether he will announce it in public, I don’t know, I don’t think so. And if you knew your decision, you wouldn’t share it. Because he has the right to decide as he likes,” concluded Djokovic’s father.
The tennis player is the current champion of this Grand Slam, which he has already won on nine occasions.
