A BOLA – Another positive case of Covid-19 in lions (Sporting)

After a dream end to the year, with his debut in Sporting’s first team, at the age of 20, against Portimonense, contributing to the victory by 3-2 – when the lions came in they lost 0-1 -, Geny Catamo started the new year 2022 in the worst way. Yesterday, on his return to the Academy to present himself to work in team B, the Mozambican international winger tested positive for the antigen tests to which all athletes, coaches and other staff of the teams that attend the Academy, in Alcochete, are subject, having been immediately isolated, in order to comply with the mandatory quarantine.

Geny Catamo is asymptomatic, passed the festive season with a restricted group but, even so, ended up accusing positive in the internal control carried out by the Leo club.

Given that at this time, according to the latest regulations made known by the General Directorate of Health, the mandatory quarantine for asymptomatic cases is only seven days, Geny Catamo may be back at the Academy as soon as the start of next week, leaving to know if he is part of the main team, under the orders of Rúben Amorim, or if he is back in the B team of lions, guided by Filipe Celikkaya.

The 20-year-old winger thus misses the match against Torreense, from team B, and cannot be an option for Amorim, if the coach so decided, for the trip to the Azores, where the lions will face on Friday the Saint Clara.
