A Bois-des-Filion man drowns in a lake in Chertsey

A 32-year-old man drowned Friday afternoon in Lac Beaulac, in Chertsey, in the Lanaudière region.

It was people on the shore who saw him, noting that he was inert in the water.

According to information provided by the Sûreté du Québec, maneuvers were attempted by these people to try to revive him, but to no avail. When the paramedics arrived, the man was still lifeless. He was rushed to a hospital where he died.

He is a resident of Bois-des-Filion, near Sainte-Thérèse, in the Laurentians.

In the early evening, the SQ was still meeting with witnesses to determine the exact circumstances of this event, which occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. on rue de la Baie, on the east side of the lake.

“Everything suggests that it was an accidental drowning,” said Ingrid Asselin, information officer at the SQ, late in the evening.
