The French DJ Selecta DeSha extends the summer and offers us a trip with friends in contact with Brazilian sweets, afrobeat hits, shatta cocente, casual amapiano and afro-house jewels!
One foot in Martinique and the other in mainland France, DeSha lived through the golden age of hip-hop collecting vinyl records in the 1990s. of a spark that awakens in him an incandescent taste for mixing genres. Logically he then became interested in the richness of Brazilian musical heritage and moved there in 2016, sharing his acute tastes in the bars of São Paulo, Salvador, Curitiba or Florianópolis, also performing the first parts of artists such as Rincón Sapiência or Mart’nalia. Without imposing time barriers, DeSha forges his identity by sweeping the history of music from the 60s to today, a universe where bossa-nova frequents the amapiano, and where there is not just a step between the MPB and the ‘afro-house.
“Between claiming my Franco-Caribbean crossroads, a declaration of love for Brazil where I live and Africa as a benchmark for global contemporary music, I present to you a mixtape where the best streamers and talented artists come together. The goal is to build walkways over the Atlantic Ocean. This is the whole goal of my Criola Da Lata project, conceived by and for the dance floor and for the union of peoples beyond borders, languages and labels. “
