Thursday, December 24, the Departmental Union of Blood Donation organized a blood donation session from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Gravette room in Saint-Lys.
“We wish to open an association of blood donors in Saint-Lys”, announce Christian Huerta (departmental president of associations for voluntary blood donation in Haute-Garonne), its vice-president and Aline Gardies, assistant secretary. “The steps have been taken. Volunteers have been found. We are waiting to have the possibility of meeting to launch this association, hoping for the beginning of 2021”, specifies Aline Gardies disguised as Mother Christmas for this event.
104 donors in five hours
This last collection “exceptional by the day” was a success. Indeed, no less than 104 people presented themselves during these five hours with seven new donors. “It was a beautiful fundraising in figures with a nice and friendly atmosphere. The donors were welcomed by two volunteers from the Colomiers association, who came to help the French Blood Establishment (EFS) for this occasion”, adds – warmly thanking the donors and the staff of the EFS. Three of them came from Albi for this collection.
As the blood donation association is being created in Saint-Lys, donors have already volunteered to be part of it.
