As Olympique de Marseille is looking for a new sporting director, Monaco is on the verge of hiring Mitchell, the author of excellent work with RB Leipzig.
If the coaching market should be calmer, especially among the top players in Ligue 1, it will be quite different with the leaders. Several leading French clubs are indeed looking for a new sports director. This is particularly the case of Monaco, Marseille and even Lille, to whom Luis Campos intends to turn his back.
But to believe The team, Monaco is on the verge of finding its new strong man. Paul Mitchell, current sporting director of Leipzig and director of strategy for Red Bull, would indeed be very close to joining the club of the Principality. The English leader would have already agreed with the Monegasque leaders and only a few formalities remain to be settled.
Pickeu still on pole
Arrived in winter 2018 at Leipzig, Paul Mitchell is best known for his work at Tottenham where he is behind the arrivals from Son Heung-min, Dele Alli or Toby Alderweireld. Its main mission in Monaco will notably be to reduce the plethora of staff, in addition to building one capable of regaining the Champions League. The likely arrival of the Briton will be a first big blow for ASM.
Marseille is still far from it. The tracks mentioned in the Marseille city appear much less prestigious. Two names are indeed mentioned, those of and Olivier Pickeu, who is a favorite and also had views on the post in Monaco …
