On Saturday, December 23, 2023, within the scope of the “21-25 December National Struggle and Martyrs’ Commemoration Week”, a bicycle ride will be organized by the Turkish Cypriot Cycling Federation.
The bicycle ride will start at 07:30 in front of Kyrenia Gate (Martyrs’ Monument) in Nicosia. Cyclists will; Bedrettin Demirel-Abdi İpekçi-Journalist Kemal Aşık will come to Honda Traffic Lights Junction via Şehit Mustafa Ahmet Ruso Streets, turn right at the junction, follow the Nicosia-Famagusta Main Road route, turn left at Dörtyol Junction, reach Atlılar, Muratağa and Sandallar, then return on the same route. It will return to Nicosia Kyrenia Gate and the cycling will end at the starting point.
On the specified road route, cyclists will be accompanied by a police escort and all intersections and circles on the route that the athletes will pass will be cut off by the police and closed to vehicle traffic.
On the specified date, vehicle drivers who will use the road route in question are kindly requested to drive slowly and carefully, and to obey traffic signs and signals, for the safety of life and property of themselves and the athletes.
