Claudie-Anh Caron went to the hospital for inexplicable stomach aches in early December. After a while, she was told she was pregnant and would give birth in a few hours. Quite a surprise for the young woman who showed no sign of pregnancy.

“I had a tiny tummy, but my clothes still fit. I never had any nausea and still had my period. I really didn’t know I was pregnant, ”says M.me Caron at Press, Christmas day.
The year 2020 will have been unbelievable until the end for her and her boyfriend, Tommy Grenier, aged 24. The prospect of becoming parents so suddenly initially stressed the young couple from Saint-Constant, in a relationship for less than a year. “We never broached the subject. We didn’t know if we wanted children, ”explains the young mother.
On December 8, she felt unbearable pain in her stomach. Her boyfriend accompanied her to the emergency room at Anna-Laberge hospital. The next morning, she delivered a healthy 6.6 lb baby. “It’s inexplicable. We hadn’t planned anything, bought nothing, and I was giving birth in a few hours. ”
The medical staff swirled around her like bees in a beehive.
I was told repeatedly that this was a rare situation.

Panicked, she called her sister.
“We work in the same place and that morning she was late and I was wondering why. A few minutes later, I get a call. She explains to me that she has been pregnant … for 32 weeks! », Explains Maie-Li Caron, still in shock.
She then joined her sister in the hospital. “It was something. Shortly after my arrival, my nephew was there. ”
Maie-Li Caron took care of everything, making the rounds of members of both families and work colleagues.
In less than 48 hours, parents were ready to welcome their first child and received clothes, infant seat, cradle, nursing bra and crib.
« [La grossesse] didn’t look at all, she had put on a little weight, but we continued to train together. In the past three months, she complained that she had back pain. It’s incredible, ”remembers the new mother’s sister, delighted to be aunt.
“I did not believe this kind of story possible, you have to live it to believe it”, their mother, Nathalie Lagacé is surprised.
This year, punctuated by upheavals, ends well. “A nice surprise Christmas present. It happened like a little miracle of life, ”said the young mother calmly.
The amazement and adrenaline quickly gave way to unconditional love for the infant. The new parents fell under the spell of little William, a calm and smiling infant. “As soon as we had him in our arms, we said to ourselves that we loved him, that we were going to work out. It is a beautiful unforeseen ”, philosopher the mother.
