One of the best small hatchbacks on the planet is currently being offered at a very interesting discount. The already favorable price becomes almost unsustainable at that time.
As the “year of the turning point” slowly approaches, meaning of course the year 2035 and the impending end of new internal combustion engines, the supply of individual brands begins to ‘ narrowing and gradually we will be happy if we come across at least a hybrid. It becomes more frequent the seller’s question about whether we have photovoltaics at home (and therefore the ability to rechargein principle free of charge) or a wall box in the garage or somewhere under the pergola – for the same reason. Refueling? So maybe laundry detergent.
A very rich experience with batteries – and almost no electric car. admirable
It is even better when we can still engage in classic “gasoline technology”, however from a manufacturer with extensive experience in hybrids (mostly mild hybrids). On the other hand, with “full electrification” so far it is very, lazy, which is for a company with unlimited possibilities and a very strong knowledge of batteries, cables, connectors and other electrical “tinkering” is highly desirable. There are many more people who used to make telephones, for example, and now make electric cars. Or they did nothing at all.
Of course, we are talking about Toyota. A Japanese colossus with a mark of the perfect quality of its products, on which repairers around the world become rich and have a good look, already mentioned Sometimes, “Lexus” is not very funny to make you happy for example Top German cars. And that for over 30 years. Or how would you feel if you beat “Uwe” from Ingolstadt and “Hans” from Stuttgart, but Joy in America still buys the Japanese? So you see.
The Yaris looks “alive” quite amazingly
And this is how it has been for BMW for the already mentioned 30 years. At least. At the other end of the spectrum, Toyota makes more interesting small models. And truth be told, I’m all for it probably the best mini in the world. And the Toyota Yaris Hybrid is one of the best small cars on the market. It’s a small hatchback, powered by both petrol and hybrid engines and benefiting from Toyota’s decades of experience in the field. But, unlike the old Yaris, hybrid doesn’t mean drab and boring – this latest model has a fun design, plenty of flair and an overall younger style.
I was just walking past one about two days ago. And I had to go back to see if it was “GR-ko” by any chance. That is, the mythical “minor support”. ATV as from WRC. It is true that it is a “foundation”, but obviously it wasn’t a deterrent to many people, after all it was dusty like mushrooms after rain. Do you want to use it a little? So prepare the same money as new money. No, it wasn’t “GR-ko”. It’s just the design and sports edition, using the “GR” badges, but under the standard, small hybrid hood. However, it looked pretty perfect inside and out.
The Yaris was in front of her in early 2024, although updates are not immediately visible. On the outside, changes are limited to new alloy wheels and some new paint, including two-tone models with a black top. A few other changes are already in – the Yaris now gets state-of-the-art infotainment system, optional digital instrument cluster and a whole range of new safety features.

There is also a drive unit to choose from. The 115-horsepower hybrid drive is carried over from the previous car, but now you can also “one-five” gasoline with a power of 125. Both are based on the same 1.5-liter engine, but the 115-horsepower model trades in low consumption of fuel (the hybrid has an impressive 3.9 litres/100km compared to 5.2 litres/100km for the pure petrol version) for a chunk of extra power – it’s now much more comparable to the 140bhp Renault Clio E-Tech hybrid.
It’s also worth noting that the base Yaris is also well-equipped. As usual, it gets practical features such as a rear camera and adaptive cruise control, a very reasonable climate control with its own control and stylish 16-inch alloy wheels. Just pay a little more, and the wheels will be an inch bigger (that’s what I saw on the aforementioned Yaris not far from my house) and premium JBL Audio will play for you on the way. Plus other features you often have to pay extra for in other small hatchbacks. Which kind of helps justify the higher starting price.
But. Toyota currently has an interesting promotion where it provides a discount of 65,000 on all Yaris 2024 model year. And suddenly the original 449,000 is much more interesting 384,000. just give the salesman a good smile, and the 380 shines immediately on the deal. Which, for today’s technology, is also wrapped in a very attractive coat, doesn’t sound like a bad offer to me. After all, how do you see it? Fabia, Polo, Clio, Peugeot 208 – or Yaris?
