The last collection of the year 2022 of the St Rémy blood donor association registered 9 new donors.
The collection organized during the holiday period between Christmas and New Year was a real success with 81 donors collected, including 9 new donors.
Among these new donors, more precisely, three donors met at the same table to have a snack prepared by the friendly volunteers. Two sisters, Cécile 33 years old and Lucie 30 years old came to donate for the first time this Tuesday afternoon. They have the same professional activity which is very demanding and since they are both on vacation, it was an opportunity to come and make this gesture which helps save lives. For Sylvie, 64, it is totally different. She thought she could never donate because she had a health problem as a child, but she met Odile, some friendly, at the St Rémy Christmas market she offered to come. She signed up, she had an interview with a nurse, and she was able to make her first donation.
A very nice gesture where the generational difference disappears in favor of life.
The friendly volunteers had rolled up their sleeves in the kitchen to prepare snacks. A real festive snack with pain aux raisins, hot chocolate, coffee, etc… in the afternoon and at the end of the day a dish garnished with a slice of pâté, pistachio crust, apricot foie gras, salad, fish/rice terrine with leek coulis and frozen bûchette.
Joëlle Goujon, president of the friendly San Rémoise and the volunteers had prepared everything for a warm atmosphere during this Christmas season, decorations, sweets and snacks, everything necessary to welcome, as usual, the donors. All donors received a small gift offered by the nice ones.
The next collection will take place in the Espace Brassens room on Tuesday 28 February 2023 from 3.30pm to 7.30pm.
