The devil kills the direct ones, or if not, they should tell the British journalist Maryam Moshiri, the protagonist of one of the latest viral events on social networks. The communicator, a regular news presenter on UK public television, the BBC, has been caught red-handed through the cameras of your news program making a comb to someone when I thought they were not yet broadcasting live.
The events occurred last Wednesday, December 6 at the beginning of the noon news program. After the BBC broadcast its classic headline, the network connected to its London set and then the unexpected happened: the cameras captured the presenter making a mocking gesture and giving a comb to someone who was in the camera area for what which gave the impression that she was doing it to the entire country who saw her from their homes.
The events lasted milliseconds. After doing her comb Maryam Moshiri immediately regained her composure and recited the classic words with which every day the BBC news program starts “Live from London, this is BBC” or what is the same “Live from London, we are in BBC News” and immediately afterwards talk about former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
But although she was quick and regained her shape instantly, the image of the comb had been broadcast live and spread like wildfire through social networks in the form of a meme so that, within a few minutes, it had already become the meme of the day in the United Kingdom and within hours it had also reached our country.
The impact of her comb was such that, although many of the users supported her, defending that it was a joke between colleagues that should never have been broadcast and that, although she is a news presenter, she also has the right to be human.the journalist has been forced to explain the facts and apologize.
In a statement issued through X (the new Twitter), Moshiri explained that what the cameras had captured was a private joke that should never have been broadcast on television. “Hello everyone. Yesterday, right at the end of the hour, I was joking a little with my gallery mates. I was pretending to count down while the director counted from 10 to 0 including my fingers to show the number. So, showing first ten fingers and lowering them to one,” explained the communicator.
Moshiri assured that what the cameras captured was the fact that, when he reached 1, he turned his finger as “a joke” and did not realize that they were already recording. “It was a private joke with the team and I’m very sorry that it went live. I didn’t mean for this to happen and I’m sorry if I offended or upset anyone. In reality, he wasn’t trashing the viewers or even a specific person. It was a silly joke intended for a small group of colleagues,” the journalist ended up narrating.
