The second edition of the “Blockchain Awards” of Alastria has finished with five award-winning projects related to blockchain technology. Among them is the Digital Battery Passport project for Vehicle 4.0, developed by Xpander by Teknia and winner in the Industrial Uses category.
This innovative project applies blockchain to traceability of electric vehicle batterieswhich allows storing a large amount of information about the battery, from mineral extraction to recycling, ensuring that the data is accessible to all actors in the chain.
The project, which has been developed for Ford, aims to improve the traceability and sustainability of electric car batteries throughout their entire value chain, through the creation of a digital product passport.
The Digital Battery Passport is an example of how blockchain is transforming the automotive sectorimproving not only sustainability, but also transparency throughout the battery life cycle. Javier Belarte, CEO of Xpander by Teknia, has assured that “In three years, everyone who bets on the blockchain will see exponential growth“.
On the other hand, the award for the best blockchain project in “Sustainability”has ended up in the CircularTrust decentralized ecosystemfrom Blue Room Innovation, which allows the creation of digital product passports to promote traceability, sustainability and transparency in the supply chain.
