A 2021 barrel of Corton Renardes Grand Cru wine went under the hammer at the Hospices de Beaune charity auction for 800 thousand euros. About this on Sunday, November 21, reported press service of the auction house Sotheby’s on Twitter.
“A new auction record for a ‘presidential lot’ sold for € 800,000 after a 15-minute bidding battle,” it said.

According to Sotheby’s, the wine was infused in a special 228 liter Fusion barrel, designed by master François Frere from the highest quality Burgundy oak, which makes the drink even more unique.
The proceeds from the bidding will be used to combat violence against women, as well as medical research to combat breast cancer.
