The US authorities managed to arrest a 78-year-old woman in Missouri, on charges of carrying out a bank robbery.
And US media said that Bonnie Gooch collected the money in her car before being chased by the police, less than four kilometers from the bank that she stole.
During the investigations, it became clear that the elderly woman had a criminal record, as she had previously been involved twice in theft of two banks, the first in California in 1977, and the second in Kansas City in 2020.
“When the officers first approached her, they were kind of confused,” Pleasant Hill Police Chief Tommy Wright told the Kansas City Star.
He added that Ms. Gooch did not have any “diagnosed” illnesses, but given her age, the department was trying to determine if there were underlying health factors that could have contributed to the accident.
He did not know how much money Old Gooch had succeeded in seizing, nor the scenario by which she was able to acquire that money.
