Leroy Sané broke the deadlock in the 17th minute and assisted Joshua Kimmich for the first of his two goals ten minutes later. Serge Gnabry signed the third in the 32nd minute, after a pass from “space interpreter” Thomas Müller. An own goal by Vasilios Lampropoulos in the 43rd minute made the difference 4-0 before half-time.
