It’s official. Al-Sadd announced, this Friday, the departure of the Spaniard Xavi Hernández from the technical command of the team. The Qatari club explains, through a statement, that the coach made known in recent days his willingness to head to Barcelona, which, in turn, agreed to pay the termination clause to guarantee the competition of his former player.
Xavi is thus preparing to return to the club where he worked as a player and from which he left at the end of the 2014/2015 season. He will succeed the Dutchman Ronald Koeman in charge of the team.
Turki Al-Ali: The #AlSadd administration has agreed on Xavi’s move to Barcelona after the payment of the release clause stipulated in the contract. We’ve agreed on cooperation with Barcelona in the future. Xavi is an important part of Al-Sadd’s history and we wish him success. pic.twitter.com/3FvCOdYl5X
