The new “Revolution Max 975T” engine just released on the will also be used by Harley-Davidson to flesh out its new – and surprising! – range of trail bikes with a potential “Pan America 975”. Source of this information disclosed with a little advance? The American site of the manufacturer itself!

Spare parts were thus briefly listed on the official Harley portal, including an optional tank cap available for the Pan America 1250 – references “RA1250” and “RA1250S” – but also for two other references: “RA975” and “RA975” . Either Pan America 975 and Pan America 975 S according to the logic of the Harley nomenclature.
These references quickly disappeared, but not without raising awareness tattooed fans of the Milwaukee brand! Note that the same scenario has already occurred for the Nightster: to believe that this type of “inadvertent” unveiling is part of Harley communication, in the same way as the so-called “stolen” photos which appear opportunely before the launch some new stuff!
If this platform sharing is indeed a reality, this novelty would appeal to adventurers not interested in the format and power of the 150 hp Pan America 1250. The Revolution Max 975T develops 89 hp and 95 Nm on the Nightster, which would put this hypothetical “Pan America 975” in the range of the BMW F850GS (95 hp and 92 Nm) and Triumph Tiger 900 (95.2 hp and 87 Nm) .
The American manufacturer could also seek market share on the Ducati Multistrada V2 (113 hp and 96 Nm), but also why not on smaller displacement trails such as the excellent Suzuki V-Strom 650 and the no less relevant Kawasaki Versys 650.
Its price will be decisive in this respect: remember that Harley-Davidson has positioned itself aggressively in the ultra-competitive segment of maxi-trails with its Pan America 1250 priced at 16,890 euros in the standard version. Its 975 cc version would be inspired to follow the same path with a price around 10,000 euros, right between its 650 cc and 800/900 cc rivals!
