A 52-year-old man died in a traffic accident in Limassol

A fatal traffic accident occurred early in the morning in Limassol with the victim being 52-year-old Chrysostomos Chrysostomos. Chrysostomou was pulled over by a car driven by a 67-year-old man, also from Limassol. As part of the accident investigation, the police are looking for witnesses, and are also appealing to the public.

As stated in his statements by the assistant traffic officer of Limassol Emilios Kafas, the accident happened shortly after 5:00 in the morning at the junction of Omonia Avenue and Vasileos Pavlou Street. “The driver, in his attempt to turn to enter a lane, ran over and fatally injured the pedestrian who was moving in the road,” said Mr. Kafas. The unfortunate man was ejected and then hit the asphalt resulting in fatal injuries. He was taken by ambulance to the Limassol hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“The examinations of the accident are in the initial stage and will continue with more and more specialized examinations to establish the exact circumstances of the accident” said Mr. Kafas.

The driver of the vehicle was tested for drugs and alcohol with a negative result. He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody pending investigations into the circumstances under which the new fatal traffic accident occurred.

The Limassol traffic police appeals to the public, asking for information about the new fatal traffic accident.
