A 5-year-old boy died in a self-collision car accident on the National Highway in Changhua

On National Highway No. 1, 204 kilometers south of Xiushui Road, there was a deadly car accident at 6 o’clock in the evening. A passenger car driven by a woman surnamed Xin hit the guardrail, and she and her five-year-old son sitting in the right front seat were thrown out. Tong threw it to the shoulder of the road and died on the spot. In the back seat, a woman surnamed Zhang and a woman surnamed Xin whose 2-year-old daughter was tied to a safety seat were both slightly injured.

At the scene of the car accident, the car was stuck in the outer lane, and the national road was in a mess. The items on the car were distributed on three lanes. The ambulance from the Xihu Fire Brigade of Changhua County happened to be driving 204 kilometers south of National Highway No. 1 at 6:00 p.m. Immediate rescue.

Yang Shengming, head of the Xihu Fire Department in Changhua County, said, “A five-year-old boy surnamed Xin was lying on the shoulder outside the car. It was suspected that he was thrown out of the car and suffered serious facial injuries. The scene is OHCA.”

A woman was lying on the road in front of the car, another woman was in the car, and a two-year-old baby was strapped into a safety seat.

According to the National Highway Police, the boy’s mother is also the driver of the car, surnamed Xin, 42 years old. The journey was to return to Kaohsiung, but a self-collision accident occurred on Xiushui Road.

There were impact marks on the front and rear of the vehicle, and the damage was severe.

Lan Jie, a doctor at the emergency department of Changhua Hospital, said, “After first aid, he was pronounced dead at 7:30. The rest of the passengers appeared to have fractured pelvis, fractured sternum, multiple lacerations on the face, and broken teeth.”

The National Highway Police conducted a preliminary inspection at the scene. According to regulations, children under the age of 12 are not allowed to sit in the front seat. This may be the main cause of the boy’s serious injury and death after being thrown out.
