A 5.6 M earthquake shook Pacitan, East Java

Earthquake a magnitude (M) of 5.6 occurred in Pacitan, East Java. The earthquake does not have the potential to cause a tsunami.

BMKG reported that the earthquake happened on Monday (01/09/2023) at 7:26 PM WIB. The earthquake was reported at a depth of 10 km.

“90km SE of PACITAN-East Java,” @infoBMKG wrote.

The earthquake coordinates were recorded at 8.99 degrees south latitude (LS) and 111.16 degrees east longitude (BT). Up to now there is no information related to the impact of the earthquake.
