A 48-year-old man from Svishtov died in hospital, and doctors are fighting for the life of his 40-year-old companion after the serious accident that occurred this evening on the road between the Tarnovo villages of Resen and Stefan Stambolovo. This was announced by the press center of the ODMVR – Veliko Tarnovo.
A Mercedes car and an Audi SUV collided head-on. The driver of the Mercedes died in hospital. He is 48 from Svishtov. The passenger is 40, also from Svishtov, in danger of life.
The audio driver is out of danger. Was tested for alcohol, sample came back negative. Blood samples were taken from both drivers for chemical analysis. The reasons are being clarified.
An investigation procedure has been initiated in the case.
The stretch is still closed to traffic.
