On Sunday, shortly after 5:30 p.m., a 38-year-old Drôme resident from Valence jumped from the top of the Douce Plage dam and apparently knocked himself out when he fell into the water. Alerted by witnesses, the aquatic rescuers of Tournon and the firefighters of Ardèche, under the command of Captain Fabien Delobre, recovered the victim from 4 meters deep.

The emergency services tried in vain to resuscitate the victim with the reinforcement of the Smur de Romans. The gendarmes of the territorial brigade of Tournon, under the command of Major Franck Hurtrez, had to evacuate the beach during the emergency response.
