A 3-year-old child is fighting for his life, crushed by a football goal. They are silent for 13 days about the case

A 3-year-old child is fighting for his life in the Plovdiv University Hospital “St. George” after a door of a football field in the Asenovgrad district “Dolni Voden” fell on him.

Although the incident happened on June 3, it became clear only today during a meeting of the Municipal Council of Asenovgrad. The municipal councilor from BSP Geo Karadanov asked the mayor of Asenovgrad Dr. Hristo Grudev who manages the sports facilities in the municipality, who is to blame for the incident and when and what measures will be taken by the local administration to secure the sports field, said the local TV SAT COM.

The football door of the playground in Dolni Voden fell on the child, as a result of which he was taken to the intensive care unit of the Clinic for Pediatric Surgery of the University Hospital “St. George” in Plovdiv with severe traumatic brain injury, injured lung and broken ribs.

The unfortunate door falls on the child when he is with his back to it, and at the same time there are other children on the playground and it is a miracle that there are no other victims. The child is on the playground, not on the street and not unattended. Where parents need to be calm about the lives and health of their children. It is embarrassing that for 10 days now the dangerous door has been in the same condition without any precautionary measures being taken. The negligence and omissions of an institution led to a risk to the health and life of a child, as well as to a lack of trust in the institutions, he concluded. No one can return the shock, horror, fear and pain to the affected family. “, said Karadanov.

On June 7, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior in Plovdiv announced that as of that date they had not received a signal for such an incident and had not been notified. A day later, however, the Municipality of Asenovgrad received a request for information from the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior – Plovdiv, which owns the football stadium in “Dolni Voden”, as well as who manages and is responsible for sports facilities.

From the document, which is addressed to the mayor of Asenovgrad, it is clear that the incident is being investigated in pre-trial proceedings according to the inventory of the police in the city.

At the session of the municipal councilors, Dr. Hristo Grudev replied that he would first have to get acquainted with the case in detail in order to answer thoroughly and competently.

I want to see what the child’s condition is, he said, and promised to answer questions at the next session in early July.
