The first case of the new flu was registered in Gabrovo. A 3-year-old child has fallen ill and is admitted to the children’s ward of the regional hospital.
The child was admitted to the hospital in a very serious condition, but is now stabilized, said the head of the Children’s Department, Dr. Svetla Pashova, as quoted by BNR. The mother of the infected child is a teacher at Slaveykovo school in Tryavna, where 5 cases of the new influenza virus were proven.
Another 8-year-old child was admitted to the same hospital with severe flu-like symptoms.
The Regional Health Inspectorate in Gabrovo took 6 samples, mostly from students from Gabrovo, who will be tested for swine flu. The results will become clear on Monday.
