A 22-year-old man arrested in Bilbao for 45 crimes of sexual abuse of minors online | Radio Bilbao

The Civil Guard has The alleged perpetrator of 45 crimes of sexual abuse of minors was arrested in Bilbao, a man who used web portals aimed at minors to contact the victims, which he later threatened to get material. The detainee is a 22-year-old young man from the capital of Biscay.

As reported by the Civil Guard, they have been located 12 victims between the ages of 13 and 15, residing in the three territories of the Basque Country, in addition to the Balearic Islands, Seville, Tarragona, Zaragoza, Navarra and Barcelona.

The detainee is considered the author of 12 crimes of sexual abuse of minors, 9 crimes of sexual assault of minors under 16 years of age, since it is considered proven that he subjected the victims to serious intimidation. He is also accused of 12 crimes of corruption of minors by requiring them to perform certain explicit sexual acts. To this are added 12 other crimes of spreading pornography among minors, since it was also possible to prove that the files he received from the minors were in turn distributed among other minors, in order to obtain new material.

The Civil Guard began the investigations thanks to a Complaint filed with her office in Navarra by a minor, who was being threatened by a man to whom she had already sent several photos and a nude video. The receiver of the videos threatened to report her if she did not send him more images.

Investigators were able to identify the detainee, who had contacted the victim on a web page intended to “chat” live with strangers randomly and anonymously from the age of 13. This portal is usually used by minors.

In this first contact the detainee posed as a 15-year-old, who after having a brief conversation, asked the victim for the telephone number to be able to continue speaking through a telephone messaging application, since when the chat was closed they would have no way of communicating again due to being anonymous.

The victim gave him his mobile phone and began to receive messages from the detainee, with whom he continued talking normally, until He asked her to send him a nude photo, threatening her if she did not agree to send the photo. After accessing the minor and sending the first photograph, the detainee requested more graphic material, expanding the threats by uploading the photograph received to social networks.

From the analysis of the detainee’s mobile phone, it was possible to obtain the full chat between him and the minor complainant, as well as the files exchanged. It was also verified how on that phone there were more conversations with other minors to whom he also extorted money to get them to send him intimate photos.

With these data, the Civil Guard investigators identified and located 11 new minors residing in the aforementioned provinces, who had also been victims of the detainee.
