He thought the windows would blow out. Artem Sandetskyi (12) was sitting at his desk in the middle of the classroom when he heard a loud bang. He felt that the school building in Odesa was shaking.
A plane had crashed seven kilometers away from the school.
Then the mother called.
“Come home as soon as you can,” she said.
Russia had invaded Ukraine a few hours earlier. Her mother knew what she had to do now:
