It is known that the healthcare sector is facing a major social challenge: how do we move towards a sector that has virtually no CO2 more emissions in 2050? Saving energy and eliminating the use of fossil fuels are essential to achieve this goal. The EVZ publishes the Factsheet Energy indicators Healthcare sector, to give an idea of the size of the healthcare sector in relation to energy consumption.
General characteristics of the healthcare sector
The fact sheet graphically presents general characteristics of the healthcare sector, such as number of employees, turnover and average annual contribution per inhabitant. The sheet then goes into depth on the energy consumption of a number of subsectors, after which this is broken down by province. In this way, striking differences are identified.
Big profit to be made
It is these differences and outliers that are interesting, because great gains can be made or a lot can be learned from them. This fact sheet therefore also serves as a call to the sector to include (at least) the information specified in the input formats and tools in the portfolio roadmaps, good practices to share and contribute to new research questions for EVZ. This is how we help each other to a CO2poor sector in 2050!
