If you still like to play Fortnite on your iPhone, then that is something you should take into account when you get an iPhone 12. In connection with the battle between Apple and Epic, that game is not going well.
Currently, if you have Fortnite on your iPhone and want to remove it, you cannot install it again afterwards. But the same problem actually occurs when you want to transfer your backup from iCloud to the iPhone 12.
No Fortnite on iPhone 12
Actually, it makes sense, because Fortnite is no longer available on the App Store. And when you then switch to your iPhone 12, you run into a problem there. Last week, Matt Birchler’s tweet below showed that perfectly.
Heh, looks like I lost Fortnite by transferring to a new phone. Suppose I should have seen that coming. pic.twitter.com/sP9Ci8Ww6n

This makes it definitely impossible to play Fortnite on your iPhone 12. The iPhone 11 is the last model on which the game is played for the time being, provided you have downloaded it on time. You cannot do very much with it. The game will no longer receive updates, so it is not possible to get loose with other players in the game. In that respect it is really of no use to you. Until Epic and Apple at some point bury the hatchet or water down and the game is available in a somewhat normal way again. It just doesn’t look like that for the time being.
Been hassle for over two months
Fortnite was removed from the App Store on August 13. This after Epic found a work-around to prevent in-game transactions from going through the App Store. This creates a legal battle that does not seem to end at the moment. You can find the archive about this battle here.
