HIDALGO.
A week after winning in the elections on October 18 to renew authorities of 84 municipalities of the entity, the elected mayor of San Agustín Tlaxiaca, Felipe Hernández Gonzáles, died of covid19, reported the state steering committee of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI).
It was 15 days before the voting on October 18 that the PRI candidate confirmed that he had contracted covid19, so he isolated himself and it was his team that continued with the campaign activities.
In addition to this death, Tomás Alonso García Cerón, the flag-bearer of Nueva Alianza, the mayor of this same municipality, died in the campaign because of covid19.
Another elected mayor who, after the votes, confirmed to be positive for covid19 is the PRI Gastón Valdespino Ávila, elected mayor of Epazoyucán.
During the campaign period, the contagion of Ariadna Ramírez Gutiérrez, in Axctopán; Gustavo Ríos Rivera, from Más por Hidalgo, and from the PRD, Isidro Pedraza Chávez, both candidates in Pachuca.
In Tula, Rocío Tirado, from Movimiento Ciudadano, who after testing positive for the strain declined to apply.
During the campaign period of the municipal elections of the state of Hidalgo, Excelsior reported the contempt of candidates for the health guidelines issued by electoral authorities, to avoid rallies with more than 50 attendees and, on the contrary, they concentrated thousands of people, particularly in the last week of proselytizing activity.
They mourn the death of the elected mayor
Omar Fayad, governor of Hidalgo, lamented the death of the elected mayor of San Agustín Tlaxiaca, and joined in the sentence that the family of Héctor Felipe Hernández González faces.
“I regret the sensitive death of the elected municipal president of San Agustín Tlaxiaca, Héctor Felipe Hernández González; working man and with a vocation for service. I join in the grief that the Hernandez López family is gripped by, I hope for a prompt resignation. RIP ”, wrote Omar Fayad on his social networks.

Erika Rodríguez, president of the PRI State Steering Committee in Hidalgo, who also confirmed that she was positive for the viral strain, sent condolences to the relatives of Felipe Hernández González, whom she called her partner and friend.
