For seven months, 18-year-old Kevin Huypens was in jail: the Antwerp investigators were so convinced that he had shot his father in his garage in Schilde. Until the German police knocked on the door and made it clear to the Belgians that they had the wrong suspect. They had unmasked the German Fred Wittig (57) as a murderer. But he, in turn, pleads innocent. “Justice has made another mistake”, Wittig writes from his cell. The trial of the investigators will probably also be made this week in the assize room.
