Even trailers
Not only Polish Těšín, but also Racibórz is one of the favorite destinations of Czech customers. After all, it is only about forty minutes from Ostrava to Racibórz, even closer from Opava and only half an hour from Hlučín. And if you combine the trip with refueling a full tank, the costs will be reimbursed to you, because gasoline is significantly cheaper in Poland.

On Saturday afternoon, about a quarter of cars with Czech registration marks were in the parking lot in front of the Ratibor hobby market Castorama. Some also came with trailers.

“We are closer here than to Opava, so we go shopping here very often, even twice a month,” says a young man from Chuchelná in the Opava region, who went to Racibórz with his wife and two small children.

“We repair the bathroom and we also need vacuum cleaner bags. And while we’re here, we’ll also look at some winter boots and buy food. Who knows when the stores in the Czech Republic will open again, and moreover in Poland it is a bit cheaper, “he added.

Veils are mandatory in Poland not only in shops and other indoor areas, but also outdoors. The vast majority of people, including Czech shoppers, had a veil.

On Saturday, however, the salesmen in Racibórz cautiously indicated that they were not exactly enthusiastic about the increased interest from Czech customers.

“The Czechia is almost the worst in the world right now, it does not even recommend entry to foreigners unless they have work reasons, for example. And Czechs come to us to shop as if nothing had happened, that makes no sense, “a salesman at the Polish hobby market told Práva.

He added that, moreover, it is not clear how long it will take for shops to close in Poland. According to him, the restrictions here basically copy the measures in the Czech Republic. “For example, restaurants are closed in Poland from today, and who knows what will happen in a week if they don’t close us,” said a salesman from Castorama.
