‘Female passengers internally examined at Qatar airport’

Australia has complained to the Qatar authorities about the “unacceptable treatment” of female travelers at Doha airport. Australian media report that a group of women there were forced to undress and undergo an internal examination after the discovery of a baby. Among them were thirteen women from Australia.

According to the media, the case already took place on October 2. Hamad International Airport staff then found a newborn child in a toilet room. All female passengers on a flight to Sydney were then disembarked and examined in an ambulance at the gate for signs of childbirth. They would have been forced to take off their underwear and have also been examined internally. Nothing was said about the discovery of the baby.

The airport says doctors called in were concerned about the mother’s condition, and an attempt was made to track it down.

‘Couldn’t Believe It’

A male passenger says on the Australian channel ABC that all the women were upset and emotional when they returned to the plane. “People couldn’t believe what had happened,” he says.

Australian Foreign Minister Payne speaks of disturbing and horrific events. “We have made our position very clear to the Qatari authorities,” said Payne. Amnesty International says women’s rights have been brutally violated.

During their quarantine period in Australia, the women received medical and psychological support. It is not clear how many women in total have been forced to be checked. The child is still in Qatar and is being cared for.

  1. It would not be fun, but I would have no problem giving a vaginal inspection, under the circumstances. I would want to help aid them in finding whoever committed such a horrible act… Whether it resulted in finding them or not, I totally understand that they’re desperate to find this person. I mean, we all go for Pap Smears, as long as they do it under proper medical guidelines and have a female there, also, I would want to help.
