A different Comic Strip Festival in Colomiers: No publisher stands this year, but exhibitions in Colomiers and Toulouse, meetings with authors, films and shows, workshops and readings for the youngest!
Every year in November, the city of Colomiers organizes the BD festival, one of the biggest events dedicated to the 9th art in France. The 34th edition of this unmissable event of the columérine landscape had to have a particular flavor since it was part of the national operation “2020, year of the comic strip”.
Given the current health context, the event cannot be held under the initial conditions and its current form cannot be maintained in view of the prefectural and government measures in this period of health crisis. “This is why I asked the teams to show resilience and imagination to invent innovative and creative formats, so as not to give in to the vacuum imposed by the circumstances”, explains Ms. Karine Traval-Michelet, Mayor of Colomiers and Vice-President of Toulouse Métropole.
As a result, the “editors’ fair” part, which takes place at the Hall Comminges, is canceled because it cannot be adapted to the new health constraints announced by the Prefecture of Haute-Garonne.
Exhibitions (Pavillon Blanc Henri-Molina and Espace Lucien-Blazy), workshops (Pavillon Blanc Henri-Molina), author meetings (Pavillon Blanc and Cinéma le Central), shows (Auditorium Jean-Cayrou) scheduled as part of the festival are in progress. being worked on by the teams to be kept on the weekend of November 13, 14 and 15 but according to the strict sanitary protocol for each type of establishment: limitation of gauges, direction of movement, wearing of the mask and hydro-gel alcoholic will be required.
