Bad Segeberg (ots) – Saturday evening (October 24th, 2020) there was a traffic accident between a bus and a car on the B 432, in which one occupant of the bus was fatally and seven others were slightly injured.
According to previous knowledge, a VW Passat drove on the B 432 at 20:27 coming from Leezen in the direction of Bad Segeberg.
For a previously unknown cause, the car turned right on the shoulder about two kilometers behind Leezen and collided with a tree. Due to the force of the impact, the car threw back onto the lane and crashed into the driver’s side of an oncoming bus.
A 16 – year – old occupant of the bus from the Segeberg district died on site as a result of the injuries. Seven other inmates suffered minor injuries and one person was uninjured.
The driver of the Passat could not be found at first. The search, including with a helicopter, was unsuccessful.
Police officers recorded the accident and called in an expert on the orders of the Kiel Public Prosecutor.
This morning, the alleged 20-year-old driver reported his whereabouts through his lawyer and was taken into police custody shortly afterwards. The young man comes from the Segeberg district.
